This is not one of those “hair halaus” as you can see from the photo (thank god). Halaus like that usually come with yelling kumus, throwing drumsticks and making dancers cry and I think I’m done with that kind of training. But I will probably have hula hair again- waist length maybe, unless it drives me crazy. Then I will do what other girls do before competition or big shows - extensions (shhh!).

Marlena has been dancing for about a year now and is by far the youngest of Jacinta’s protege’s at age 4.
I, on the other hand, while still have long hair, have not shaken the hula hips in quite a while. I miss it. I’m so happy to see you dancing again.

Oooh! I’m about to ask a culturally-challenged question here, but does that mean that you can’t cut your hair?
